Today, conceptual band La Dispute announce their No One Was Driving the Car Australian headline tour, which will hit our shores in October 2026. La Dispute will be promoting their latest album, No One Was Driving the Car, released in September 2025 via Epitaph Records.

The headline tour kicks off at the Astor Theatre in Perth on October 16, before heading to Victoria for shows at Singing Bird in Frankston on October 18 and 170 Russell in Melbourne on October 19. The band then plays The Gov in Adelaide on October 21, Liberty Hall in Sydney on October 23, King Street in Newcastle on October 24, and finishes at The Tivoli in Brisbane on October 25.

All shows are all ages except for Melbourne, which is 18+, and Perth, which is licensed all ages, with patrons under 18 able to attend when accompanied by a parent or guardian over 18. Guests on the tour are Meanjin/Brisbane four-piece Special Features.

Six out of the seven Australian shows are all ages or licensed all ages, reflecting the roots of La Dispute, as vocalist Jordan Dreyer explains:

"All of us were underage when we first started going to local shows at home in West Michigan, and attending them pushed us to start writing music together and playing our own. Without venues that were accessible to us, both as attendees and performers, the entire endeavour might have died on the vine, and we'd have lost not only an important creative outlet as young people, but a welcoming community too.

Understanding that possibility, it’s been a priority always to keep our doors open to all comers where possible, so that anyone—including, or especially, younger people—have the same opportunities afforded to us at a crucial age."

It’s been six years since La Dispute released their last album, Panorama. Since then, the Michigan post-hardcore band—made up of Jordan Dreyer (vocals), Brad Vander Lugt (drums), Chad Morgan-Sterenberg (guitar), Corey Stroffolino (guitar), and Adam Vass (bass)—has continued to evolve while maintaining the emotionally charged sound and literary storytelling that has made them one of the genre’s most respected acts.
